I thought up this site on Italian wine to please all those who are curious about the world of wine but are intimidated by its arcane language and puzzled by the great diversity of names and prices.

I tried not to be boring or sound academic, although some subjects are not easy to put in a nutshell. To make it easier I would like to shoot some videos in the next season to show you some vineyards and the winemaking process.  For those who want more, I asked my friend Rocco Lettieri to  write some articles on specific topics, leaving him a “corner”  in the site. He’s the quintessential epicurean, a veteran wine journalist ( and a superb cook ).

I was born in Italy and brought up with good food and good wine, appreciating them since I was a kid. I have a Wset Certificate and have been for a long time an affiliate of Slow Food, but it is my ingrained passion for wine that I would like to share with all wine lovers who want to explore the amazing variety and excellence of Italian wines.

My wish is to make you more confident when choosing a bottle, no longer trusting the prettiest labels  or the famous names, but relying on your own taste and knowledge.

Go beyond the clichées  of the same five globalized wine varieties, beyond pretension and fashion. Try the unknown,  find  your own hidden treasure. There is so much to discover along this journey through the vineyards of Italy.

Forget about wine snobs, become a dandy!
